A steamer is a cooking utensil that allows you to cook most food, but generally meat and vegetables, with steam heat from boiling water.  An electric steamer will have an outlet that it will need to be powered into. With a water reservoir below, heated by electric coils, this will then heat the water into steam pushing it over and above the tiered food.  The main benefit of is steam cooking is the minimal loss of vitamins and minerals, and the physical aspect of the foods generally remains the same.  Thus producing beautiful healthy meals at a one stop shop!
