A Tomato Knife is a small kitchen knife that are especially designed for cutting or slicing tomatoes. A typical tomato knife has a serrated edge along with a heavy duty plastic handle that is moulded to fit securely in the hand.  Blades for tomato knives are usually made of stainless steel and is effective for peeling as well as cutting tomatoes. The tip can be used to pierce the skin of the tomato and gently lift small portion of the peel from the surface and also for peeling the tomato without damaging the food underneath.
